Dried jackfruit ranking 2026
Dried jackfruit, or dried breadfruit, looks like a simple exotic snack. In practice, the differences between products are significant: some contain 100% fruit, while others include added oil, sugar, or sulfur dioxide.
When choosing, it is worth looking not only at the price, but also at the ingredients, country of origin, fiber and sugar content, and the clarity of the information on the label.
In this ranking, we compared 9 dried jackfruit products available in Polish stores. We assessed them using a single methodology, taking into account the ingredients, raw material quality, fiber and sugar profile, price per 100 g, packaging, and ease of confirming the most important product information. We assessed the purity of the ingredients and the fiber and sugar profile separately—a product with simple ingredients does not always have the best nutritional score.
Methodology — how did we assess dried jackfruit?
The assessment was based on five areas, which together gave a maximum of 100 points. For each criterion, we state the maximum number of points that can be earned; in the case of incomplete, variable, or difficult-to-confirm data, the product could receive partial points instead of the full value.
- Ingredients and purity (max 40 pts) was the most important criterion. We checked whether the product contained sulfites, including E220 (20 pts), whether it had added sugar (10 pts), and whether it contained added oil, e.g., palm or sunflower oil (10 pts).
- Raw material quality (max 25 pts) included an organic certificate or confirmed method of cultivation (10 pts), country of origin (8 pts), and a specifically described product form, e.g., pieces, slices, or fruit chips (7 pts). We awarded full points for the country of origin for one specific country; variable or batch-dependent origin reduced the score.
- Fiber and sugar profile (max 15 pts) did not assess the overall "healthiness" of the product, but rather two specific parameters: fiber content of at least 5 g/100 g (8 pts) and sugar content of no more than 60 g/100 g (7 pts). A product with a very clean ingredient list could therefore lose points in this category if it had little fiber or a high concentration of natural sugars.
- Value for money (max 10 pts) was calculated based on the price per 100 g. We compared products without E220 separately from products with E220, as the preservative significantly changes the ingredients assessment. The average price of products without E220 was approx. PLN 7.58/100 g, and products with E220—approx. PLN 6.76/100 g. Products below the average for their class received the full 10 pts, products that were more expensive but had a quality justification received 5 pts, and more expensive products without sufficient quality justification received 0 pts.
- Packaging (max 10 pts) was assessed for convenience and product protection: a resealable closure (5 pts), completeness of the label or product card (3 pts), and protection against moisture and light (2 pts). A score of 5/10 most often meant that the product had basic data and typical moisture-proof packaging, but a resealable closure could not be confirmed.
Products with sulfur dioxide or sulfites, labeled among others as E220–E228, were not removed from the ranking because they are permitted preservatives. However, we treated them as a significant quality drawback—they reduce the naturalness of the ingredients, and in sensitive individuals, especially those with asthma, they may be associated with adverse reactions—therefore, products with E220 were placed at the end of the list regardless of their score.
In the event of a tie in points, we ranked the product with the lower price per 100 g higher. Product data and prices were verified on June 24, 2026.
Dried Jackfruit Ranking
🥇 1st place — Go4Taste Jackfruit 100% 200 g
70 / 100 pts
Go4Taste, described as dried jackfruit pieces, wins the ranking primarily due to its clean ingredient list. It is the only product in the list that contains 100% dried jackfruit without added oil, sugar, or preservatives. It therefore receives the maximum number of points in the ingredients and purity category.
The biggest surprise may be the lower score in the fiber and sugar profile category. The product contains 0.5 g of fiber and 71.2 g of sugar per 100 g. This does not mean that the ingredients are bad—quite the opposite, it is the cleanest in the ranking—but it shows that dried jackfruit in this version is a concentrated source of natural sugars and does not provide much fiber.
The resealable packaging and clear product card are also a plus. The price is higher than that of some competitors, but in this case, it is justified by the simplest possible ingredients without oil or additives.
🥈 2nd place — Your Taste Jackfruit Dried Breadfruit
68 / 100 pts
Your Taste takes a high place thanks to its very good value for money. The product has a simple ingredient list: 99% breadfruit and 1% palm oil. There is no added sugar or preservatives in the ingredients, and the country of origin is stated as Vietnam. The manufacturer describes the product's texture as crispy and reminiscent of chips.
The nutritional values are good in terms of fiber—9.5 g per 100 g. The weaker point is sugar: 62.1 g/100 g, which is slightly above the threshold adopted in the methodology. The product also loses points for the presence of palm oil, although its amount is small.
Your Taste's biggest advantage is its price. In the 1 kg variant, it costs PLN 49, or PLN 4.90 per 100 g—this is the most favorable price among products without E220.
🥉 3rd place — Natural Expert Jackfruit Breadfruit Chips 500 g
68 / 100 pts
Natural Expert has a very similar profile to Your Taste: 99% breadfruit and 1% palm oil. The product is described as preservative-free and sugar-free, and the country of origin is Vietnam. This is a solid, simple option among dried jackfruit chips.
In terms of nutritional values, the product performs just like Your Taste: it has a good level of fiber, but the sugar exceeds the adopted threshold of 60 g/100 g. For this reason, it does not receive full points in the fiber and sugar profile category.
What decides its place behind Your Taste is the price. Natural Expert costs PLN 36.50 for 500 g, or PLN 7.30 per 100 g. This is still a reasonable result, but in the event of a tie in points, we rank the cheaper product higher.
4th place — Agnex Dried Breadfruit Jackfruit 250 g
67 / 100 pts
Agnex performs well in terms of ingredients and transparency. The product contains 99% breadfruit and 1% palm oil, has no added sugar, and the country of origin is stated directly as Vietnam. The product card also contains a full table of nutritional values and specifies the form as dried slices/chips.
The biggest limitation is fiber. The label states 0 g of fiber per 100 g, so the product does not receive points for this parameter. At the same time, sugar is 54.8 g/100 g, so it fits within the adopted threshold and gives partial points in the fiber and sugar profile category.
The price of PLN 17 for 250 g places Agnex in the reasonable middle of the pack. The product loses points mainly due to the addition of palm oil and low fiber, but makes up for it with a clear product card, no E220, and no added sugar.
5th place — BRAT.pl Dried Breadfruit Jackfruit 500 g
62 / 100 pts
BRAT.pl has a good price and convenient packaging. The 500 g variant costs PLN 29.90, or PLN 5.98 per 100 g. The product is packed in a stand-up pouch with a zipper, which makes storage after opening easier and gives it full points for packaging.
The ingredients include dried breadfruit and palm oil. We do not see E220 or added sugar here, but the presence of oil lowers the score in the ingredients and purity category. The nutritional values are close to the thresholds: sugar is 59.5 g/100 g, which fits within the limit, but fiber at 4.5 g is just below the threshold of 5 g/100 g.
The product card shows Vietnam, but at the same time informs that the products in the package are selected randomly and there is no option to choose the country of origin. Therefore, we treated this information as less stable than a clearly declared country of raw material and lowered the score in the raw material quality category.
6th place — Helio Dried Jackfruit 60 g
60 / 100 pts
Helio stands out with a very good score in the fiber and sugar profile. The product contains 9.7 g of fiber and 55 g of sugar per 100 g, so it meets both thresholds in this category. This is one of the best nutritional results in the entire list.
The weaker points are the ingredients, price, and less precisely described origin. The product contains sunflower oil, so it loses points for ingredient purity. The country of raw material is stated variably as Thailand or Vietnam, so we did not rate this information as highly as a single, fixed country of origin. The 60 g package is convenient for trying, but calculated per 100 g, it turns out to be expensive—around PLN 9.98.
Helio can be a good choice for people who want a small package and a good fiber and sugar profile. However, it does not rank higher because it is not a single-ingredient product, and the price per 100 g remains high despite the quality justification.
7th place — Orzechland Dried Jackfruit 500 g
45 / 100 pts
Orzechland has several strong points: the country of origin is Thailand, the ingredients contain no added sugar or oil, and the sugar content is stated on the product card. The product performs well in the sugar profile—56 g/100 g fits within the adopted limit, but the lack of confirmed fiber does not allow for full points in this category.
The deciding drawback is sulfur dioxide in the ingredients. E220 is a permitted preservative, but in this ranking, we treat it as a significant reduction in ingredient quality. According to the methodology, products with E220 are placed at the end of the list regardless of the total points.
Orzechland therefore performs better than a typical product with sugar and a preservative, but the presence of sulfur dioxide excludes it from competing for higher places.
8th place — NUX Dried Breadfruit Jackfruit 500 g
43 / 100 pts
NUX has a favorable price and lists the country of origin. The ingredients are jackfruit, citric acid, and sulfur dioxide. It contains no added sugar or oil, which is a plus compared to some competitors.
The issues are the preservative E220 and the lack of the product's own complete fiber and sugar values needed to assess the nutritional profile in our methodology. Despite having a similar composition to Orzechland, we did not transfer the nutritional data between products — we only scored the information available for the specific product page.
NUX does not have the worst ingredients, but due to the presence of sulfur dioxide and missing data, it cannot compete with products without E220.
9th place — Delikatesy Zdrowo Dried Jackfruit 500 g
31 / 100 pts
Delikatesy Zdrowo ranks last mainly due to its ingredients. The product contains 91% jackfruit, 8% sugar, citric acid, and sulfur dioxide. This is the weakest combination in the ranking in terms of ingredient purity.
Added sugar and E220 significantly lower the score. The product lists its country of origin — Thailand — and contains fiber, but these pluses do not outweigh the presence of the preservative and added sugar. It also performs poorly in the sugar category, as it exceeds the accepted threshold.
A low position does not mean the product is not approved for sale. It means that in a ranking focused on simple ingredients, the lack of sulfites and added sugar makes it perform the worst.

* In the event of a tie in points, the lower price per 100 g determined the order. Products with E220 were classified at the end of the list regardless of the total points.
Ranking summary
The dried jackfruit ranking shows that the most important differences in this category concern the ingredients. Some products are almost entirely fruit with a small addition of oil, some contain the preservative E220, and one of the evaluated products also contains added sugar.
Go4Taste wins thanks to the cleanest ingredients — 100% fruit without oil, sugar, or preservatives. Your Taste and Natural Expert form a very strong price-quality group: both products have 99% fruit and 1% palm oil, and the difference is the price per 100 g. Agnex performs similarly, but loses out due to very low fiber.
BRAT.pl is a practical option in a larger package with a zip, but loses out due to less stable information about the country of origin. Helio stands out with the best fiber and sugar profile, although it has a small package, added sunflower oil, and a variable country of origin. Orzechland, NUX, and Delikatesy Zdrowo products ranked last due to the presence of E220; in the case of Delikatesy Zdrowo, added sugar is also included.
- If a clean composition is most important — Go4Taste.
- If price and the absence of E220 matter — Your Taste.
- If you want a small package to try and a good fiber and sugar profile — Helio.
What is dried jackfruit?
Jackfruit, or jackfruit fruit, is a large tropical fruit originating from Asia. In its fresh form, it has a sweet, fruity taste, associated with banana, mango, or pineapple. In Poland, it is most commonly found in two forms: as young jackfruit in brine for savory dishes or as dried jackfruit in the form of slices or chips.
Dried jackfruit is a snack obtained by removing water from the ripe fruit. As a result, it becomes sweeter, more concentrated, and crunchier. At the same time, its calorie and sugar content per 100 g increases, which is typical for dried fruits.
Several variants can be found on the market:
- Dried jackfruit 100% fruit — the simplest variant, without added oil, sugar, or preservatives. The best choice for people who want the least processed product, but it is still worth remembering that dried fruit is more concentrated in sugars than fresh fruit.
- Jackfruit chips with added oil — the most common variant in stores. It usually contains 98–99% fruit and 1–2% oil, most often palm or sunflower oil. The addition of oil improves crunchiness and texture, but lowers the purity of the ingredients; we do not consider it a nutritional advantage over the 100% fruit version.
- Jackfruit with E220 — a product preserved with sulfur dioxide. E220 is an approved food additive, but in this ranking, it lowers the ingredient score and moves the product to the end of the list.
Properties of dried jackfruit
Dried jackfruit is primarily a source of carbohydrates. It has a naturally sweet taste and a high concentration of sugars, so it is best treated as a snack or addition, rather than a product to eat without limits.
Depending on the product, it may also provide fiber. In this ranking, the differences were large: some products had over 9 g of fiber per 100 g, while others had less than 1 g. This shows that not every dried jackfruit has the same nutritional profile.
It is worth remembering that dried jackfruit is not a substitute for fresh fruit. During drying, the water content decreases, and sugars and calories become more concentrated. Therefore, the best approach is a moderate portion, e.g., as an addition to oatmeal, yogurt, granola, or a trail mix.
Uses of dried jackfruit
Dried jackfruit works best as a crunchy, sweet snack or addition to simple cold dishes.
Best uses:
- as a standalone snack,
- as an addition to oatmeal,
- as an ingredient in homemade granola,
- as a topping for yogurt or skyr,
- as an addition to muesli,
- as an element of a trail mix,
- as a topping for a smoothie bowl,
- as an addition to desserts and ice cream.
It is worth distinguishing dried jackfruit from young jackfruit in brine. Dried fruit is sweet and crunchy, while young jackfruit from a can has a more neutral taste and a fibrous texture, so it is sometimes used in plant-based cuisine as a meat substitute in savory dishes.
How to choose good dried jackfruit?
- Simple ingredients: It is best if the product contains only dried fruit. The addition of oil, sugar, or preservatives lowers the quality score.
- No E220: Sulfur dioxide is an approved preservative, but it is not necessary in every dried fruit. In the ranking, we treated it as a significant ingredient minus.
- No added sugar: Dried jackfruit is sweet on its own, so the addition of sugar is not necessary. It is worth distinguishing naturally occurring sugars in the fruit from sugar added to the ingredients.
- Low oil content or no oil: Many jackfruit chips contain 1–2% oil. This does not have to disqualify the product, but the variant without oil is cleaner in terms of ingredients.
- Listed country of origin: Vietnam, Thailand, or Sri Lanka are examples of specific information that makes it easier to assess the transparency of the product. The lack of a country of origin lowers the credibility of the product page.
- Fiber and sugars: A good product should have a reasonable fiber and sugar profile. In this ranking, we rewarded products with a minimum of 5 g of fiber and a maximum of 60 g of sugars per 100 g.
- Packaging with a zip: Dried fruits easily absorb moisture, so a zip closure is a practical plus. This is especially important for larger packages.
How to store dried jackfruit?
Store dried jackfruit in a cool, dry place, away from light, moisture, and heat sources. After opening, it is best to seal the package tightly, and if it does not have a zip, transfer the product to a jar or container with a good seal.
Moisture can impair crunchiness and speed up the spoilage of dried fruits. If the product has changed its smell, taste, or texture, or if mold has appeared, it should not be consumed.
Fun facts about jackfruit
The largest fruit growing on a tree
Jackfruit can weigh several dozen, and sometimes even several tens of kilograms. A lot of edible pulp is obtained from one fruit, so in tropical countries, it is important not only as a botanical curiosity, but also as a practical source of food.
Not every jackfruit tastes the same
Ripe jackfruit is sweet and fruity, while young jackfruit has a neutral taste and a fibrous texture. Therefore, one variant is used for desserts and snacks, while the other is used in savory dishes.
Jackfruit is sometimes confused with breadfruit
In Polish stores, the names "jackfruit", "breadfruit", and "breadfruit fruit" are sometimes used interchangeably, although breadfruit is a different, related species (Artocarpus altilis). They also differ in taste: ripe jackfruit is sweet and tropical, while breadfruit has a milder, starchy taste associated with potato or bread. Therefore, when purchasing, it is best to check the ingredients — products of different quality may be hidden under a similar name.
